Maison Arabe was for years a legendary Marrakech restaurant, created in the 1920s in two fine old houses in the Medina. Its recent expansion into a small, boutique hotel has seen the spirit of the 1920's blended with the Italian heritage of its owner.

There are quiet corners everywhere creating a mood of privacy and peace; here the only sound is of water trickling from fountains or the distant call to prayer from the Bab Doukkala Mosque. Rose petals float in brass basins and everywhere an abundance of fresh flowers makes the air sweet. Bedrooms and suites, some with private terraces, are all tastefully decorated, incorporating traditional design with all modern comforts. The cuisine is equally inspired, and the service here is unobtrusive, friendly and professional.

A shuttle service takes guests to La Maison Arabe's secret garden ten minutes away. Here a large swimming pool sits in walled lush gardens of citrus trees and herbs with a view towards the dramatic Atlas Mountains. In the hotel itself a traditional hammam is available for guests.
